AP Poll released, Michigan checks in at #8

Michigan continues to gain off-season momentum as dictated by the most recent and first of the year Associated Press poll ranking the Wolverines 8th best in the nation.   The Wolverines are also one of five teams to garner a first place vote in the AP poll by-way-of Illinois beat writer Bob Asmussen.

Coach Hoke has his Wolverines receiving high praise in 2012 preseason polls.

Michigan won’t have to wait very long to show if they are worthy of their high rankings in the preseason polls.  The first opportunity for Brady Hoke’s Wolverines to make a statement will be the September 1st showdown against the defending national champion Alabama Crimson Tide (who check in at #2) in the 4th annual Cowboys Classics down in Texas.

The results of this match-up will show the fans and media outlets straightaway if these 2012 Wolverines are for real.

The lone vote for number one might be a stretch. Now if we beat Bama then you can give them a first place vote.
