A man named Fielding Yost had a vision. Guided by his vision and steadfast in his convictions, Yost set out on a path that when completed would provide “Athletics for All.”
His passion for the University of Michigan football team allowed for the construction of a new Michigan Stadium that would be built with the “utmost simplicity.”
And even back in the 1920’s, Fielding Yost had another vision that one day crowds in excess of 150,000 would need to be accommodated. Today 84 years later, this stadium is simply known as “The Big House” and Yost would be proud.
