Michigan Moves On! Beats Illinois 64-63

Another Big Ten game. Another close victory!

The 8th ranked Wolverines earned a 64-63 victory today over the scrappy Fighting Illini from Illinois in their quarterfinal game of the 2014 Big Ten Conference tournament.

Nik Stauskas, Caris LeVert and Glenn Robinson III paced the Wolverines to victory and combined for 47 of Michigan’s 64 points.

The senior Jordan Morgan again rose to the challenge late and was on the finishing end of a full-court play that started under the Michigan basket with :19 seconds left to play and ended with a successful layup and the game winning bucket.

Illinois had one last shot at the win but their layup attempt fell short.

Coach John Beilein’s club is two victories away from another conference title this season and will face the winner of the Ohio State/Nebraska game to be played later today.

Also up for grabs is a possible #1 seed in the big dance tournament.

Keep on doing what Blue do boys and take it one game at a time the rest of the way.
