Michigan 2012 Spring Practice Quick Hits
Spring ball is officially under way in the Al Glick Field House on Michigan’s campus. Denard is looking poised to be a leader and Heisman candidate. Fitzgerald Toussaint is developing into a “feature” back everyday. Thomas Rawls is also shaping up into a excellent number-two back.
There are potentially holes in the depth chart at wide receiver and on both the offensive and defensive lines, yet the Wolverines still look incredibly poised and polished enough to be a front-runner for the Big Ten title in 2012.
Defensively the mad scientist known as Greg Mattison is experimenting in unique ways to say the least. From testing the waters with wide-out Jeremy Gallon at defensive end to leaving open the competition between Thomas Gordon and Jake Ryan…Greg Mattison is working to ensure everyone stays on their game this spring.
We will undoubtedly see new and familiar faces in some new and somewhat unfamiliar places, as well as more complex blitz packages now that the Wolverines are another year into Mattison’s system.
As the spring scrimmage approaches Michigan men from all over this great country cant help but be excited. We have a championship caliber contest in the cowboy classic against Alabama to start the season, an uncompromising conference schedule, and a newly confident urban Meyer lead buckeye team.
This season will test our program in ways it hasn’t been in years, and will prove if Coach Hoke’s rebuilding of Michigan is over and if it was successful. One things for sure…It’s great to be a Michigan Wolverine!
